An awfully familiar one, where your mother probably sang it to you to sleep when you were a poor little kid.
Rock-a-bye baby, in the treetop,
When the wind blows, the cradle will rock,
When the bough breaks, the cradle will fall,
And down will come baby, cradle and all.
Hahaha, but if you take a closer look at the lyrics, it's really ridiculous.
It really doesn't have the lyrics of a lullaby, oh come on.
Look at the last line!
That's like, getting the baby to fall onto the ground and maybe break into pieces, with bones shattered!
Well, since the babies probably wouldn't understand, you could probably put some propagandic lyrics to sing to your child I figured, that might just brainwash him or her.
Maybe,
Rock-a-bye baby, in the treetop, When you grow up straight A's you will get, You will then become really successful, And then you can come buy daddy some new shoes!
HAHAHA I KNOW IT'S STUPID I'M JUST BORED OKAY.
Anyway! Your child'll probably still fall asleep anyway, I think it's the tune that calms the baby down.
I was supposed to have chemistry in the morning, but apparently my teacher had food poisoning the night before.
SOOO IT WAS CANCELLED. Oh well!
Anyway, sports day was great, even though it was kinda tough to host the whole occasion.
Everything might have been cut because we started late, but nonetheless it was a great day.
I'll probably get the pictures taken by the professional photographers somehow, and then post it up some other time.
So, the kids were really irresponsive towards the start of the sports day.
They would like, not cheer, not respond, not shout YES!!! or anything along that line.
And the bombing game was a partial failure, because the two clubs at the extreme ends couldn't hear each other.
However, when we started doing cheers, the atmosphere brightened up!
Well slightly.
I mean when we went like, "CHILDREN, US EMCEES HAVE PREPARED A CHEER TOO! DO YOU GUYS WANT TO HEAR IT!?"
... mostly silence with a few yes-es from countable individuals...
But we performed it in the end.
Y'know how cheers usually start out softer and usually end really really loud with a big shout or something.
Well we decided to try out something different!
We figured that we would start out louder, and slowly soften till the end, where we finally would fade out!
It follows the Toys'R'Us Kid tune;
I don't wanna grow up, I'm a TYA kid! Lot's of friends in TYA that I can play with! I don't wanna grow up, I'm a TYA kid! Always good and always kind and sharing all that's mine! With camps and sports during holidays, it's the best children's club there is! GEE WHIZ! I don't wanna grow up, Because maybe if I did! I wouldn't be a TYA kid! ~ More fun more games oh boy! ~ I wanna be a TYA kid!
And the first two lines sort of failed, because somehow I forgot the lyrics, but I made a comeback, so hahaha!
AND THEN AFTER WE EMBARRASSED OURSELVES WHILE BREIFING THE RULES, THE RACES BEGAN!
We thought maybe we'd squeeze in a wave or two during the races if they happened to be delayed.
Ha, so the calling for the contestants for the first few individual races worked out well, until the telematch!
The telematches are practically a series of games played by around eight people, hosted by the NUS High students.
So apparently it was delayed, ad we really couldn't do anything, even though we were hoping to squeeze in a wave.
Simply because after you minus away all the participants being set apart for the telematch, we don't really have much people left now do we.
That resulted in free candy being given to children who agreed to do embarrassing things, hohoho.
Somewhere inbetween it started to rain.
So we were like, CHILDREN, MAYBE IF YOU CHEER THE RAIN WOULD GO AWAY!
No, they didn't cheer and yes, the rain still went away, hahaha.
After the 60, 100, 200, 4x100 and 8x50 races, it was supposed to be mascot and flag time.
However we didn't have time for the mascot race, probably because we were running real late.
Aww.
The volunteers' race and mascot interview was conducted concurrently though, so that bought us some time!
ANWYAY THEN IT WAS PRIZE PRESENTATIONzxzxz.
Hahahah it was so funny because after all the VIPs had given out the prizes and medals to all the winners, they wanted to thank the VIPs.
So nobody was there to shake the hands of the VIPs and pass them the tokens of appreciation and take a picture with them.
SO I JUST WENT AND DID IT, HAHAHA IT WAS SO FUNNY I TELL YOU.
It was super cheesy!
So I just put my arms around the VIPs as though they were my bestest pals and took photos with them!
HAHAHA okay.
Then it was supposed to be phototaking but everyone was so restless so we just let the club leaders take over and bring the kids home.
SO I COULDN'T DECIDE WHETHER I WOULD
Take the bus to serangoon, eat while being smelly, then go back home and bathe and sleep!
OR
Take the bus home and bathe and sleep!
I just chose the latter, so here I am!
And I shall go sleep soon, really I'm dead tired.
Ready, set, don't go! Not ready, not ready, AHH JUST GOGOGO!
